Huck PAC Endorses Marlin Stutzman For US Senate In Indiana
by Mike Huckabee
Like many states, Indiana unfortunately knows first hand the devastating effects of a struggling economy. As a fourth-generation farmer, Marlin understands how the states' families and small businesses are affected by poor economic policies. Marlin believes in lowering taxes on businesses, eliminating taxes on capital gains and investments and opposes the latest market-killing ‘solutions’ coming from Washington like Cap and Trade, government-run health care and card check.
We need more people like Marlin Stutzman in Washington because he’ll work for the right kind of change in D.C. Please join me in supporting Marlin Stutzman for U.S. Senate from Indiana.

Okay, I know this is an old blog now and that Marlin Stutzman lost his race for US Senate in Indiana, however, due to an unexpected messy situation in Indiana's 3rd Congressional District, we now have a vacancy. Marlin Stutzman is set to announce a potential candidacy for this open seat tomorrow, May 20. I would trust that Marlin would still have HuckPac's support!

Thank you again, Governor Huckabee, for endorsing Marlin. He put up a great fight, ran a very clean and positive campaign. He may not have won this time, but his supporters are ready for the next time around or however the Lord leads.

Great idea, Granny T. I also think it would be good to have a question and answer section.

"Great minds think a like." Just kidding Governor, I was fortunate enough to vote last Sunday, and I voted for Mr. Stutzman. I am so glad you are taking an interest in our State, and all the others. Your endorsement means a lot to Americans tired of Political Theatrics, that have been going on as of late. Keep up the Good work Governor, God bless you, and yours.

Could HuckPAC put the direct link for the endorsed candidates' websites with the endorsements? It would make it easier for potential voters to research.
I will be encouraging my friends in Indiana to vote for Marlin.

This is in follow up to Bob Moore's comments (The tea party leaders throughout Indiana have largely endorsed Marlin, even though his involvement preceded theirs.) This statement is totally incorrect. There has been no TP group to endorse Marlin, other than 4 leaders right in the Michiana area (Marlin's backyard)that came from the same TP group that formed a coalition to endorse Marlin. The coalition endorsed Marlin NOT THE TP group. As I mentioned, the coalition has 4 members. There are probably 20,000 TP members here in Indiana. 4 out of 20,000 is what %? Of those 4 leaders, Bob Moore is one of them.
There are over 80 TP groups here in Indiana and none of them have endorsed any US Senate candidates. To say that Marlin has been endorsed by TP leaders here in Indiana is a total misrepresentation.
All 5 candidates have TP supporters. That is a fact. To single out one candidate, to say that they are the "TP Candidate" is totally not right.

The opposition on this blog to HuckPac's endorsement of Marlin Stutzman is in reference to Indiana HB 1379 or Roll Call Vote 272. Most, if not all, Republicans voted for it and most, if not all, Democrats voted against it. The above link will show you the votes on this bill.

Thanks Governor for an excellent endorsement! Marlin Stutzman is a strong constitutional conservative. I will be proud to vote for him next Tuesday in our primary.

Marlin's vote that you are most probably referring to (as giving a big tax increase) has been misstated by people that either do NOT understand the bill or are purposely misrepresenting. This is a desperate ATTACK by opponents of Marlin Stutzman. If you are referring to Roll Call 272 on 3/24/09, it actually LOWERED 40% of small business unemployment insurance. Some people are calling it a big tax increase, but what it actually did was cut the unemployment tax on 40% of small businesses. This bill was to correct an UNFAIR tax on businesses that were all paying THE SAME FEE FOR THIS Federally Mandated Fund, regardless of whether they actually used it or not. Indiana took bold action to correct the situation as much as possible. "This is PRECISELY why Senator Jim DeMint is unwavering in his endorsement for Marlin Stutzman" according to Christy Stutzman. The increase only went to those who use the fund more, which is a minority of businesses. (Many businesses have been able to move employees to a part-time status instead of having to lay them off altogether.) In another effort to help all business during touch economic times, the legislature decided to postpone even the required partial increase to the minority of businesses this year. Thank you, Marlin, for helping the state of Indiana. Thanks to Marlin and other fiscally conservatives in Indiana, Indiana has just TRULY balanced Indiana's budget for the first time in many years. Indiana, with Stutzman's help, CUT the budget to equal it's income.

Gov Huckabee has made an excellent choice. Stutzman is a solid, but not an angry, conservative with a unique and sterling record [ignore the noise from the Ron Paul crowd] for right-to-life, fiscal responsibility, smaller government, 2nd amendment rights, Christian virtue and support of Israel. This record stands out vividly even in an uncommonly large field of relatively conservative candidates [this is Indiana after all]. The tea party leaders throughout Indiana have largely endorsed Marlin, even though his involvement preceded theirs. The timing of the endorsement could not have been better, as I believe it will propel Marlin ahead of the aging Washington picked lobbyist in the race and on to victory. And the endorsement will further highlight the Governor's ongoing discernment and recruitment of the up-and-coming young conservatives among us.

Mike,
Did you know that Marlin Stutzman voted for the largest tax increase in Indiana state history?
How is that conservative?

Wow, what incredible timeing. I had literaly just gone to the web-site to check if you'd made an endorsement for the Indiana Senate race and after checking the blogs and seeing nothing new I went to the "Candidates" page and saw right up at the top, Marlin Stutzman. I went back to the blogs and there it was!
I'm so excited and grateful. I was going to try to catch you before or after your show on Saturday and recomend him to you but it looks like I don't have to!

Marlin voted for the largest tax increase on business in the state of Indiana. John Hostettler has never voted to raise taxes.
If he had to make this vote then why did every Republican in the statehouse vote against it.
Marlin then voted to delay the tax increase until afte this election. This is crazy. Mike Huckabee is hurting his reputation. He is turning into a sham.
There is a good candidate in this race John Hostettler.

Does your endorement mean that you also endorse his business tax increase vote, in the State Senate, that the Indiana Chamber has labeled the highest business tax increase in the history of our state.

Thank you, Governor Huckabee, for your endorsement of Marlin Stutzman for US Senate from Indiana! He is the real deal and the man us Hoosiers need in Washington to represent and lead us! I echo Linda's comments above - Marlin Stutzman is a warrior for the sanctity of life, smaller government and Israel! He has been an excellent State Senator for Indiana. I am attaching a letter to the editor of my local paper that will give more info on Marlin. Go Marlin! http://www.timesuniononline.com/main.asp?SectionID=2&SubSectionID=232&ArticleID=47241&TM=79010.14
